Banks cap all your monthly debt repayments at 55% of your income (TDSR), tested at a 4% interest rate. If your salary alone falls short, MAS lets banks count savings and investments as extra income. Pledging them with the bank for four years counts in full; leaving them unpledged counts at only 30%. This calculator shows the loan you can get, and how much you would need to pledge to reach the loan you want.

What it works out

  • The income a bank can recognise, after the 30% cut on variable pay
  • Your maximum loan at the 4% test rate
  • How much you would need to pledge, or show unpledged, to close a shortfall
